Some people had proof that having less AdSense ads on your site gets you more money, I decided it to give it a try.

The theory is that sites bid for their ads to be placed on contextually relevant web sites with the highest bidders getting the best adsense spots (the higher the better). If you only show 4 ads in 1 block, then adsense will place the highest 4 bidding advertisers in those spaces netting you the highest profit. The more ads you show, the more lower-bidding advertisers show up on your page that when those get clicked, your cpc becomes lower than it could be if they weren’t on your page to begin with.

Give a try of this experiment yourself for a few days and see if it helps you to increase your AdSense earnings too !

What is MFA sites?
MFA sites are sites which litter the whole website or blog with lots of Adsense ads and other ads with very little content or maybe none at all. They then create Adwords campaign such that they can appear on the very 1st few pages of Google’s search results pages (SERPs).

 

Why filter MFA and Directory Sites?
There have been several discussions on this topic already. My impression is that the majority of people here see an increase in revenue and ad quality when using the filter. A minority typically claims that it does not help (or even harms) the total revenue.
The beauty of the filter is that you can easily use it and see what it does to your revenue. If it does not improve, you just release the filter again, and everything should go back to "normal" within reasonable time. I have come across blogs that claimed filtering MFA sites can increase 200% of your adsense earnings.

Attention-

• Give the filter a week or two to settle in. A 24-hour experiment may not be long enough to get sufficient results.

• Use the preview tool to determine the URLs to be blocked.

• Repeat the excercise of finding mfas once a day to remove also the 2nd/3rd level of mfas.

• You will also want to look for certain services on the web offering generic mfa lists. They might (!) give you an idea about other URLs to be blocked.
   

Obviously we only want the best ads to be displayed on our sites, filtered MFA sites and it really helped. There is a site adsblacklist.com which generates lists for you (you can get it free for 50 MFA links) but from my personal experience it is better to filter them manually by using AdSense Preview Tool! Once you have identified it’s a MFA site, add it to the competitive ads filter in your adsense account.
